Choosing Your Primary Currency (USD/INR)

Set up dual currency handling in Flanceflow so you can seamlessly calculate your dashboard metrics in USD or INR while billing global clients in their local currency.

Modern freelancers frequently work across borders. You might live in India and quote domestic clients in Indian Rupees (INR ₹), while billing international design contracts in US Dollars (USD $). Flanceflow is architected from the ground up for seamless dual-currency operations.

How to configure your studio currency

  1. Click the gear icon in the lower-left sidebar to open the Workspace Settings modal.
  2. Select the "General" tab from the settings navigation menu.
  3. Locate the "Preferred Currency" dropdown field.
  4. Select either "USD ($)" or "INR (₹)" based on your primary accounting and tax reporting currency.
  5. Click "Save Changes". Flanceflow will automatically format your dashboard earnings cards, monthly revenue targets, and service defaults in your chosen currency.

Dual currency workflow tips

  • Setting dual rates on services: When defining your services in the Service Catalog, save both a USD rate ($1,200) and an INR rate (₹95,000) so you never have to perform manual mental math during client discovery calls.
  • Tax calculation alignment: If billing in INR, GST rates (18% standard IGST/CGST/SGST) apply cleanly to rupee amounts. For foreign currency invoices, export invoicing rules support 0% export zero-rated compliance.
  • Client portal consistency: Your client always sees amounts in the specific currency agreed upon for their project—they never see converted numbers that cause confusion or disputes.
