Email Integration
Connecting Gmail via OAuth
Connect your Google Workspace or Gmail account securely with 1-click OAuth to send client invoices and project notifications directly from your own professional address.
Sending invoices and client notifications from your personal or business Gmail address dramatically increases open rates, eliminates spam folder placement, and ensures all client replies land directly in your primary email inbox. Flanceflow provides a secure Google OAuth integration that connects your Google account without ever requiring you to enter or store your Google account password.
How to connect your Gmail account
- Click on "Settings" in the main left sidebar navigation.
- Navigate to the "Email & Notifications" tab within workspace settings.
- Under the "Outgoing Email Provider" section, locate the "Google Workspace / Gmail" option.
- Click the blue "Connect with Google" button. You will be redirected to Google’s secure OAuth 2.0 authorization screen.
- Select the Google account you want your Flanceflow invoices and notifications to be sent from.
- Review the requested permissions (`gmail.send` to dispatch outgoing notifications on your behalf) and click "Allow".
- You will be redirected back to Flanceflow, where a green "Connected" badge and your connected email address will appear.
- Click "Send Test Email" to verify that your inbox can dispatch emails successfully through Flanceflow.
Gmail OAuth configuration options
| Setting | Description | Recommended value | Note |

| Reply-To Address | Where client email replies will be routed | Same as connected Gmail address | Clients see and reply to your authentic inbox |
| BCC Yourself | Automatically copies your inbox on every invoice sent | Enabled | Keeps a copy of every invoice email in your "Sent" folder |
| Token Refresh | Automatic renewal of OAuth authorization token | Automatic | If you change your Google password, reconnect OAuth |
Pro tips for Google Workspace users
- Google Workspace admin consent: If your organization has a Google Workspace administrator, you may need an admin to grant third-party app consent for Flanceflow in the Google Admin Console.
- Sent folder tracking: Because invoices are dispatched through your actual Google account, every invoice email sent by Flanceflow will appear directly in your Google "Sent" folder for seamless paper trails.
- Daily sending limits: Standard Gmail accounts have a limit of 500 emails per day, while Google Workspace accounts allow up to 2,000 per day—far exceeding standard freelance invoicing volume.
