Troubleshooting & FAQ

Dark Mode Display Issues

Resolve theme flickering, low-contrast text readability, custom logo background boxes, and browser system preference sync issues.

Flanceflow features a deeply tuned dark mode designed to reduce eye strain during late-night freelance work sessions. If the interface appears stuck in light mode, flickers during page transitions, or displays low-contrast elements, follow these simple steps to restore clean visual harmony.

How to fix theme display issues

  1. Check your active theme selector: Click on your avatar/profile icon in the top-right corner of the workspace. Toggle between "Light", "Dark", and "System" to re-sync your theme preference.
  2. Force hard refresh: If CSS styles appear misaligned or inverted after an application update, press `Ctrl + F5` (Windows) or `Cmd + Shift + R` (Mac) to clear the cached stylesheet.
  3. Check system OS preferences: If your theme is set to "System", Flanceflow mirrors your operating system (macOS or Windows) dark mode schedule. If your OS switches at sunset, Flanceflow switches with it.
  4. Upload transparent PNG logos: If your studio logo displays an unsightly white rectangle around it in dark mode, re-upload your logo file as a transparent PNG or SVG rather than a JPEG with a solid white background.
  5. Disable third-party dark mode extensions: Browser extensions like Dark Reader or Night Eye can force-invert Flanceflow’s already-optimized dark palette, resulting in muddy colors or invisible text. Add `flanceflow.com` to your extension’s whitelist.

Visual refinement tips

  • Invoice PDF exports: Invoice PDFs generated for clients can be exported in clean, print-friendly Light Mode even while your workspace remains in Dark Mode.
  • High contrast mode: For users requiring heightened accessibility, enable "High Contrast Borders" in Settings > Appearance for crisp divider lines across cards and tables.
  • Client portal preview: You can preview how your client portal appears in both light and dark modes by clicking "Preview as Client" in any project.
