Time Tracking
Filtering & Reviewing Logged Hours
Audit unbilled hours, review contractor timesheets, and generate detailed time reports across projects and date ranges.
Before sending a client an invoice for 40 hours of work, you need a quick way to audit every logged entry for accuracy. The Time Tracking review table provides multi-criteria filters by client, project, team member, and billing status.
How to audit your logged hours
- Open the "Time Tracking" page from the main left sidebar.
- Use the filter bar to isolate entries: Filter by Client, Project, Date Range (This Week, This Month, or Custom), or Team Member.
- Toggle the status filter between "Unbilled" (ready to invoice) and "Billed" (already attached to an invoice).
- Review the summary cards: Total Tracked Hours, Billable Value, and Unbilled Accruals.
- Inspect individual line items to verify descriptions and rate amounts.
- Click "Export CSV" if you need a raw spreadsheet export for external client audits or payroll.
Time tracking filter parameters
| Filter | Options | Use case | Financial impact |
|---|---|---|---|
| Billing Status | Unbilled, Billed, Non-billable | Identify uncollected earnings ready to invoice | Ensures zero billable hours slip through the cracks. |
| Date Range | Today, This Week, Last 30 Days, Custom | Prepare monthly or bi-weekly invoice batches | Aligns with client billing cycles. |
| Team Member | All, Specific Collaborators | Audit subcontractor hours before approving payouts | Protects studio profit margins. |
| Project Scope | Specific Project or All Projects | Review burn rates against fixed hour caps | Prevents unexpected budget overruns. |
Audit tips for freelancers
- Weekly billing hygiene: Audit unbilled hours every Friday afternoon to ensure Monday morning invoices can be dispatched with zero delay.
- Contractor verification: Have subcontractors submit their hours by Thursday so you can review descriptions before client billing.
- Spotting scope creep: If a project’s tracked hours exceed 80% of the estimated budget while deliverables are only 50% complete, schedule a client realignment call immediately.
